Autumn Abstractions at the Winthrop Gallery

Last week the new show opened at the Winthrop Gallery featuring Autumn Abstractions and other artwork from various artists, mostly living in the Methow Valley. Here are some of my images that are in the show

Mountain Bike Races

The Methow Valley Sports Trail Association hosted mountain bike races at the Chickadee trailhead last Sunday. It was a comfortable, but gray fall day. The beautiful fall colors and bright blue elderberries gave some added vibrance to the scene, complementing the riders' bright outfits.

West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium

Finally I managed to tear myself away from this valley for a fun trip. My friend and I had a great weekend paddling new boats, learning techniques, watching films and eating too much at Fort Worden State Park near Port Townsend.

Winthrop Auto Rallye

Lots of shiny things to photograph at the Auto Rallye last month. Motorcycles were NOT part of the show but on most any nice weekend in Winthrop you will find great numbers of them.

Chelan Ridge Hawk Watch

Hawk Watch International (HWI) and the Okanogan and Wenatchee National Forest have teamed up to monitor and learn more about raptors migrating through the eastern Cascades. HWI began standardized counts at the site in 1998 following exploratory surveys in 1997.
The Chelan Ridge site is located on the border of the Methow and Chelan Districts of the Okanogan and Wenatchee National Forest, approximately 13 miles northwest of Chelan. I visited the site last month.

Where did Summer go?

Here it is October and I haven't posted anything for September. I'm going to catch up on that today and then I also want to start another site that will have my 'Make a Photo Everyday' project. It has been going on for well over a month now and has presented me with all sorts of challenges and opportunities photographically speaking. Here are a few random images from the season past.
